Fixture Update - 15.11.09
Morriston have regrettably pulled out of this weekends fixture due to tournament commitments. Fortunately, Felinfoel were able to step in and fill the void at short notice. Kick off has been moved back to 11.30 am, allowing extra travelling time for the Llanelli side. Player meet at the club at 10.45.
Abercrave Game Cancelled
Due to a player shortage and coaches on holidays, Abercrave have regretfully called off this Sundays (25th Oct) match at Ystradgynlais. This is the third consecutive occasion our local rivals have had to cancel this highly anticipated fixture. Hopefully we can re-arrange this game for a Friday night in November. Watch this space.......
Fixture Update
Due to pitch congestion, the skewen matches scheduled for 8th Nov and 7th March have now been reversed. Ystrad are now playing away in November, and home in March. Also, due to the large amount of games been cancelled this season, an opportunity to arrange an extra fixture against Skewen for Sunday 20th Dec has been excepted. This match is being played at skewen. K.O. TBC.
Aberavon Green Stars update
This Sunday's match against AGS has been confirmed, and is set for a midday kick off. Can all available players meet at Ystrad club at 10.45. If anyone is going straight over, please can you let me know.
Also due to the unavailability of our new kit, please make sure you bring last years jersey with you on sunday. Cheers Paul
U 13's Pre-season Training
With the cricket season all but complete for another year, its time, once again to dust down your rugby boots in readiness for the new rugby season ahead. The u13's will commence training on Wednesday 18th August on the main fields from 5.30 til 7pm. Hope to see you all there.

Ystrad Pair Get District Call Up
Young Ystrad u12's backs, Luc Williams and Alex Malgat have this week been drafted into the Afan Nedd squad for Fridays clash against Pontypridd . Luc and Alex have been in outstanding form this season for the "Junior Blues" scoring 44 tries between them, and thoroughly deserve their chance at District level. Luc and Alex join 4 other Ystrad players on show this Friday, Connor and Curtis Davies, Iwan Evans and Callum Close. K.O. is at 6.30pm at Cilfynydd RFC. Best of luck on Friday Boys!!  |

One of the founder members of the Ystradgynlais U12's, Brandon Harvard was this week forced in to "early retirement" due to an ankle injury. We at the "Junior Blues" wish Brandon all the best and hope for a speedy recovery, so that he may once again wear his Blue shirt with pride. |

U12's Qualify For Cup Semis
Ystradgynlais u12’s beat Pelenna 21pts to 10 in a thrilling ospreys cup match yesterday, and have now booked their place in the semi finals of the competition.
In an enthralling match, played in perfect conditions at the “rec”, Ystrad out scored their visitors by 3 tries to 2. Ystrad took the lead mid way through the first half when flying winger Alex Malgat raced over from inside his own half to score his 21st try of the season. Centre, luc Williams then added Ystrad’s second on half time, finishing off some silky handling from the Blues back line.
Pelenna started the second half strongly, continually using their impressive pack to puncture holes in the Ystrad defence. Their persistence eventually paid off when their number 8 powered over from close range. Luc then grabbed his second of the game, scoring under the posts after Ystrad worked the narrow side of a ruck on half way. Iwan Evans converted all three conversion. Pelenna scored their second late on in the match, again using their “pick and drive” tactic to great affect.. This was the last time either side troubled the scorers, and the match finish Ystrad 21, Pelenna 10.
